On Saturday the 21st the annual August
Tennis Tournament was held. The weather was wonderful. Trevor Spencer
took 1st place while Andrew Blades took 2nd place in men’s singles.
Laura Keeler took the first place prize in women’s singles in a tough win
against Laura Mailman. First place recipients received $20 gift certificates
to Tim Hortons while second place recipients received $15 gift certificates
to Subway restaurants.
At the same time the August Horseshoe tournament
was being conducted. Paul Delaney and Day Neil won first prize while Ernie
Thorburne and a rotation of Paul, Day , Seldon Bruce and Bob Butler as
his team mates took second. Bob Butler took the Ringer prize.
